Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9/10/2026 Last updated: 9/10/2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use cademeridian.com, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal fog.
By using the Site, you agree to this Policy. It works alongside our Terms of Use.
1. Who we are
Cade Meridian is an independent publishing and music imprint operated by K. Ziegenbein in Nevada, United States. We publish fiction and release music under the Cade Meridian name.
For privacy purposes, we are the "data controller" of the information described here.
Mailing address: K. Ziegenbein 2654 W Horizon Ridge Pkwy, Ste B5 #2346 Henderson, NV 89052 United States
Email: cade@cademeridian.com
2. What we collect
Information you give us directly. Your name and email address when you join our mailing list, create an account, or write to us. Your message content when you contact us. Billing and shipping details when you buy something.
Payment information. We do not see or store your full card number. Payments are processed by our payment providers, who handle card data directly. We receive confirmation of the transaction, the amount, and limited details such as the last four digits of the card and the billing country.
Order and download history. What you bought or downloaded, and when.
Technical information. Your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed. This is collected automatically by our website host as part of running the Site.
Anything you post. Comments, form submissions, or other content you choose to submit.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of information such as health, biometric, or precise location data.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses cookies — small files stored by your browser — to keep the Site working, remember your cart, and understand how the Site is used in aggregate.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the Site, particularly the store and any logged-in areas, may not work correctly if you do.
If we run advertising or analytics pixels, those third parties may also set cookies and may combine what they collect here with information they hold about you from elsewhere. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we will ask before setting them.
4. Why we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- Fulfill your orders and deliver your downloads
- Send the mailing list emails you signed up for
- Respond to your messages
- Keep the Site secure and prevent fraud or abuse
- Understand which pages and releases people actually engage with, so we can make better decisions
- Meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations
If you are in the UK, EU, or another region with similar laws, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (orders and downloads), your consent (mailing list, non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (site security, understanding aggregate usage, protecting the business), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with parties who help us run this business, and only as much as they need:
- Our website host and store platform, which operates the Site, stores mailing list and order data, and delivers downloads
- Payment processors, which handle card and account payments
- Email delivery services, which send mailing list messages
- Professional advisors, such as our accountant
- Authorities, where we're legally required to disclose, or where we need to protect our rights or someone's safety
If the business is ever sold or transferred, customer and subscriber information may transfer with it. We'd tell you before that happened.
6. The mailing list
You join by choosing to. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately — you don't have to email us or explain why.
We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
7. International transfers
We operate from the United States, and the services we rely on store data in the United States and other countries. If you're writing to us or buying from outside the US, your information will be transferred and processed here.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep things
Order and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, generally seven years.
Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed.
Messages you send us: generally up to three years, so we have context if we speak again.
Technical and log data: a short period, typically no more than twelve months.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email us at cade@cademeridian.com and ask to:
- See what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information
- Get a copy in a portable format
- Unsubscribe from emails
- Object to or restrict certain uses
If you're in the UK or EU, these rights come from the GDPR, and you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
If you're in California, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
If you're in Nevada, you may tell us not to sell your covered information. We don't sell it, but you're welcome to submit the request anyway.
We'll respond within the time the applicable law allows — usually 30 to 45 days. We may need to verify who you are before acting on a request, which normally means replying from the email address we have on file.
10. Children
The Site is not intended for children. You must be at least 16 to buy from the Site, download from it, or join the mailing list, consistent with our Terms of Use. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
11. Security
We use payment providers and a hosting platform that maintain industry-standard security, and we limit access to personal information to those who need it.
No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information and the law requires notice, we'll tell you.
12. Other sites
The Site links out to streaming platforms, stores, social media, and other places. Once you follow one of those links, you're on someone else's property and their privacy policy applies, not ours. We're not responsible for how they handle your information.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the business changes or the law does. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll say so more prominently — by email or a notice on the Site.
